Install MySQL Server on CentOS

From Console, type command

yum install mysql-server

Select Yes (y).

Installation succesful

 

Next, start mysql service

service mysqld start

Change root ‘s password on Mysql server

/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password ‘new-password’

Or

1
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root –h ‘yourhost’ password ‘new-password’

(‘yourhost’ : host name, ex: localhost

Login mysql from console:

$ mysql --user=root -p

 

Input your password when it asked

 

Configure your MySQL service start with OS
